Introduction
I can just hear the gasps of indignation when you read this weeks title. You look in the mirror each morning and think just how perfect your body is, in my case I put my rose-coloured glasses on first. Do know, that if my body was perfect it certainly is not at my age, as I have now reached Eighty. Gone are the days when I trained before each football season started, or the cricket season, or even the miles that I ran before the cross-country season. Do have some fond memories of those days, the reason, I was young and fit, happy days.
Some of you who work out on a regular basis do have good bodies, but this article is not about perfection.
It is more about imperfection.
The Imperfect Body
It’s no secret that we all want to look our best and feel confident in our own skin. But with the media constantly bombarding us with images of perfect bodies, it can be hard to remember that our imperfect bodies are actually perfectly normal. Too often, we compare ourselves to those unrealistic standards, and it can be difficult to accept and love the body we have. That’s why it’s important to remember that our imperfect bodies are perfectly okay.
What is Imperfection?
When we talk about imperfection, we’re talking about all the things that make us unique. It could be anything from a mole on your face to a birthmark on your arm. It could be your height, your skin color, or the shape of your nose. Whatever it is, it’s part of what makes you who you are. And it’s important to remember that these imperfections are what make us beautiful.
Think that this image of toes is rather a good example of imperfection in the body, not being one to look at other peoples bodies, sometimes when on the beach it is difficult not to look at peoples feet as they walk past, which makes me suggest that forget sagging tummies, feet in many cases are pretty imperfect, mine certainly are.
Thought also that most of us would not mind me looking at imperfect feet, but that I could upset some by showing imperfect bodies.
Why Have a Perfect Body?
The truth is, there’s no such thing as a perfect body. We’re all different, and that’s okay. Trying to have a perfect body is an impossible goal, and it can be detrimental to our mental health. It can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem, which can have a negative impact on our lives.
Are You Jealous of the Perfect Body?
It’s normal to feel a little jealous when we see someone with what we perceive as a perfect body. But it’s important to remember that those “perfect” bodies are often the result of hours of hard work, strict diets, and a lot of money. It’s not something that most of us can realistically achieve or afford. So instead of trying to be someone else, it’s better to focus on loving and accepting the body we have.
Why Body Build?
Some people might choose to body build in order to feel more confident in their own skin. But it’s important to remember that body building is a personal choice, and it’s not right for everyone. If you do decide to body build, make sure you to do it for the right reasons. Don’t do it because you feel like you need to be perfect. Do it because it’s something you enjoy and it makes you feel good. Do make sure that you have a medical before body building just to satisfy yourself that you are healthy enough to in fact do exercises that are needed to build your perfect body.
Accept Imperfection
At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that our imperfections are what make us unique. We all have our own unique features and flaws, and that’s what makes us beautiful. So instead of trying to be perfect, let’s learn to accept and love our imperfect bodies.
Just be Healthy
Rather than focusing on having a perfect body, it’s important to focus on being healthy. Eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep are all important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. So instead of trying to achieve an impossible goal, let’s focus on taking care of ourselves and loving our imperfect bodies.
Conclusion
I do so hope that you enjoyed this article and that should you feel that your body is not perfect, do not worry, love what you have got, it is yours, embrace it.

I believe embracing your body’s imperfections is an essential aspect of cultivating self-love and confidence. Society’s beauty standards can be unrealistic, causing self-esteem issues. Recognizing that each individual’s uniqueness is what makes them beautiful can lead to improved mental and emotional well-being. It’s important to prioritize self-care, positive self-talk, and a healthy lifestyle over pursuing an unattainable “perfect” body image. Remember, self-love radiates from self-acceptance.
Hi Liam,

Hey there! This post really hit home for me. It’s crazy how we often forget that our imperfections make us who we are. I totally get the feeling of comparing ourselves to those “perfect” images, but what’s even more amazing is embracing our unique features. So, what’s your go-to way of boosting your body confidence when those self-doubts creep in?
Hi Stratos,
Being totally arrogant, I have a simple answer, I am what I am so I am so very lucky to be fairly healthy, reasonably fit and what is more alive. Hope that this helps.

While getting older, I am now 51 and female, on the one hand my body isn’t looking as good anymore as when I was 21, but on the other hand, I have learned not to care about that as much anymore,I now feel better in my body then I did when I was 21 and come to learn to accept that there is no such thing as perfection, because everybody gets older, right? And there is beauty in an older person, I see so many examples. But I do want to grow older and healthy though, so I try to keep exercising and eating healthy, and that gives me confidence which shows.Great article thanks!
Hi Lizzy, many thanks for your comments.
